About The Position

This position is responsible for shipping and receiving duties, including filling orders for customers, branches, and service departments. The role involves boxing, packing, and crating parts for shipment, preparing shipping documents, and loading trucks. It also includes processing shipments via UPS, Fed-Ex, and hot shot, handling COD and credit card orders, unloading trucks, verifying piece counts and shipment conditions, and checking in shipments. Additionally, the role requires staging parts for shipment or customer pickup, stocking parts in designated areas, and maintaining an organized storage space for efficient handling and filling accuracy. The position also involves resolving minor issues with part numbers and quantities, recording daily work volume, cleaning the work area, assisting in other departments as needed, training new personnel, maintaining department files and logs, and potentially assisting at the will call counter. Requirements

  • Must have 1 year(s) previous experience.
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives.
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
  • Must conform to policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance company standards.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in a Windows based environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend and twist several times a day.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days.
  • Must be dependable and work independent.
  • Must maintain good client relations.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.
  • Must have the ability to effectively operate stand up electric forklifts.
  • Must have the ability to effectively operate 4000 to 5000 lb. capacity forklifts.
  • Must accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must count accurately and write legibly.
  • Must work quickly and accurately with part numbers.
  • Must meet minimum performance standards for all assignments.
  • Must attend monthly safety meeting and observe all safety rules.
  • Must protect the company assets and interests.

Responsibilities

  • Fill parts orders for branches, customers, and service departments.
  • Box, pack, or crate parts as necessary for shipment and prepare shipping documents.
  • Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas, notify carriers, and load trucks.
  • Fill, pack, and ship annual parts return orders.
  • Process a large volume of express packages daily including COD and credit card orders using a computerized UPS AND Fed-Ex system.
  • Unload trucks, check condition of freight, and verify piece count per freight bill.
  • Unpack and check in shipments per packing list and dispense per purchase order.
  • Stock parts in designated areas and maintain a correct stocking sequence.
  • Arrange parts storage areas to accommodate all stock and maximize storage space.
  • Locate parts in areas to ensure efficient handling and filling accuracy.
  • Resolve minor problems with part numbers and quantities received or shipped.
  • Record daily volume of work completed and actual time applied to activity.
  • Clean assigned work area daily.
  • Assist in any department needed.
  • Help train new personnel in the department’s duties and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining department files and logs.
  • Assist at will call counter if needed.
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
