About The Position

This role is responsible for various shipping and receiving tasks, including filling orders for customers, branches, and service departments. Responsibilities include boxing, packing, and crating parts for shipment, preparing shipping documents, and loading trucks. The position also involves processing shipments via UPS, Fed-Ex, and hot shot, including COD and credit card orders. Duties also include unloading trucks, verifying piece counts and shipment condition, checking in shipments, staging parts for shipment or customer pickup, and stocking parts in designated areas. The role requires maintaining accurate stocking sequences, arranging storage areas for efficiency, locating parts for accurate filling, and resolving minor issues with part numbers and quantities. Daily recording of work completed and time spent on activities, maintaining a clean work area, assisting in other departments, training new personnel, and maintaining department files and logs are also part of the responsibilities. The position may also involve assisting at the will call counter and promoting good welfare among the company and its divisions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year (s) previous experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives.
  • Meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
  • Conform to policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance company standards.
  • Computer literate and proficient in a Windows based environment.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend and twist several times a day.

  • Ability to effectively operate stand up electric fork lifts.
  • Ability to effectively operate 4000 to 5000 lb. capacity fork lifts.

  • Work quickly and accurately with part numbers.
  • Meet minimum performance standards for all assignments.
  • Attend monthly safety meeting and observe all safety rules.
  • Protect the company assets and interests.

Responsibilities

  • Fill parts orders for branches, customers and service department.
  • Box, pack or crate parts as necessary for shipment and prepare shipping documents.
  • Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas, notify carries and load trucks.
  • Fill, pack and ship annual parts return orders.
  • Process a large volume of express packages daily including COD and credit card orders using a computerized UPS AND Fed-Ex system.
  • Unload trucks, check condition of freight and verify piece count per freight bill.
  • Unpack and check in shipments per packing list and dispense per purchase order.
  • Stock parts in designated areas and maintain a correct stocking sequence.
  • Arrange parts storage areas to accommodate all stock and maximize storage space.
  • Locate parts in areas to insure efficient handling and filling accuracy.
  • Resolve minor problems with part numbers and quantities received or shipped.
  • Record daily volume of work completed and actual time applied to activity.
  • Clean assigned work area daily.
  • Assist in any department needed.
  • Help train new personnel in the department’s duties and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining department files and logs.
  • Assist at will call counter if needed.
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
