About The Position

This position is responsible for various shipping and receiving duties within the warehouse. Key responsibilities include filling orders for customers, branches, and service departments, boxing and packing parts for shipment, preparing shipping documents, and loading trucks. The role also involves processing shipments via UPS, Fed-Ex, and hot shot services, including COD and credit card orders. Additionally, the Warehouse Person will unload trucks, verify shipment contents and condition, check in shipments, and stock parts in designated areas. The position requires maintaining organized storage areas, ensuring efficient handling and accurate filling of parts, and resolving minor discrepancies. Daily recording of work volume and time spent on activities, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting in other departments as needed are also part of the role. Training new personnel, assisting with department files and logs, and potentially helping at the will call counter are expected. The role also emphasizes promoting good welfare within the company and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the position and how it relates to overall business objectives.
  • Ability to meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
  • Ability to conform to policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance company standards.
  • Computer literate and proficient in a Windows based environment.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to maintain good client relations.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance.

  • Ability to meet minimum performance standards for all assignments.
  • Must attend monthly safety meeting and observe all safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Fill parts orders for branches, customers, and service departments.
  • Box, pack, or crate parts as necessary for shipment and prepare shipping documents.
  • Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas, notify carriers, and load trucks.
  • Fill, pack, and ship annual parts return orders.
  • Process a large volume of express packages daily including COD and credit card orders using a computerized UPS AND Fed-Ex system.
  • Unload trucks, check condition of freight, and verify piece count per freight bill.
  • Unpack and check in shipments per packing list and dispense per purchase order.
  • Stock parts in designated areas and maintain a correct stocking sequence.
  • Arrange parts storage areas to accommodate all stock and maximize storage space.
  • Locate parts in areas to ensure efficient handling and filling accuracy.
  • Resolve minor problems with part numbers and quantities received or shipped.
  • Record daily volume of work completed and actual time applied to activity.
  • Clean assigned work area daily.
  • Assist in any department needed.
  • Help train new personnel in the department’s duties and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining department files and logs.
  • Assist at will call counter if needed.
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
