About The Position

As an established Ericsson Production Site in the US, the Smart Factory warehouse team is now looking for a Warehouse Packing Lead to be the first line of support for warehouse operations. Crucial aspects of the role include working within multiple software’s for warehouse material receipt, material preparation, and shipping of finished goods. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a demonstrated track record of working in a fast-paced environment, who learns quickly, enjoys working within a team, and possesses outstanding problem-solving skills. This individual must have knowledge working with a warehouse management system, work well under pressure, possess a working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and be able to work autonomously with little to no supervision and/or mistakes. The Warehouse Packing Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the packing process within the warehouse. This role involves leading a team of packers, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, and meeting daily targets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in warehouse or logistics, preferably in a lead role.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a self-starter, optimally work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Power point, other MS Office suite applications
  • Availability to work any of the following shifts, to be determined at time of hire: A: 7am-7pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday; B: 7pm-7am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday; C: 7am-7pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday; D: 7pm-7am Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday; M-F: 8am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of packers to achieve daily targets and maintain productivity.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee the entire packing process, from order picking to final packaging and labeling.
  • Ensure adherence to packing procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify and work with Warehouse specialists to implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of packing materials.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment (Internal certification required).
  • Inspect packed orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Resolve any packing issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and observe 5S program to ensure all working areas are clean and support lean manufacturing goals
  • Enforce safety regulations and guidelines within the packing area.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, grasp, push, and pull for 10-12 hours, in addition to lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to packing operations.
  • Generate reports on daily and weekly performance, including productivity and accuracy metrics.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
