Night Warehouse Order Selector
About The Position
This position will be actively involved in order selection, staging, and loading of merchandise for the following day’s deliveries. In addition, this individual will perform dayshift activities as needed. The role requires maintaining efficient quality and productivity standards, accurately picking products, and ensuring proper building of pallets for delivery. Responsibilities include controlling damage, minimizing product loss, and properly wrapping, blocking, and loading assigned nightly routes. The employee will also be responsible for removing shrink wrap from picking pallets and neatly stacking empty pallets. Advocating for a positive workplace environment and participating in the practical application of safety and maintenance policies are also key aspects of the role. The position requires staying within Company set standards on minimum cases per hour picked with appropriate speed and accuracy. Other duties may be assigned. The role adheres to Company policies and procedures, including all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations regarding the warehousing of alcoholic beverages. Employees are expected to not abuse equipment and maintain company property such as company vehicles and equipment. Professionalism is maintained through appropriate dress and appearance, effective interpersonal communication, accuracy and thoroughness, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, and demonstrating sound judgment, decision-making, and accountability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience a plus.
- Previous experience with electric pallet jacks.
- General understanding of warehouse logistics, material handling, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to lift/carry/move 35 lbs. (maximum of 160 lbs.).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, etc.).
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and scissor lift according to location needs.
- Ability to become familiar with warehouse lay-out, product location set-up, and product rotation.
- Demonstrates positive team dynamics and productive communication skills through work history.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the public as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work on own initiative and handle a wide range of tasks.
- Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals.
- Must be able to read bin location labels, product descriptions, read off tablet and handheld devices.
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with fellow employees, hear voice pick commands. Must be able to hear horn/alarms while in warehouse.
