About The Position

SpartanNash, a food solutions company and member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family, is seeking a Warehouse Order Selector. This role is responsible for completing orders by selecting products from warehouse racks, and assembling, palletizing, and shrink-wrapping products/pallets for customer orders. The Order Selector may use various powered industrial equipment and work in different temperature zones, including refrigerated and freezer areas. SpartanNash is a distributor, wholesaler, and retailer with a global supply chain network, serving diverse customers across all 50 states.

Requirements

  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls.
  • Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior order selecting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating power industrial equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete orders by selecting products from warehouse racks.
  • Assemble, palletize, and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders.
  • Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products in specific quantities for delivery to customers by using order sheets or an audio headset.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.
  • Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.
  • Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
