About The Position

This position will be actively involved in order selection, staging, and loading of merchandise for the following day’s deliveries. In addition, this individual will perform dayshift activities as needed. The role requires adherence to company policies and procedures, including those related to the warehousing of alcoholic beverages. Professionalism, effective communication, and sound judgment are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with electric pallet jacks.
  • General understanding of warehouse logistics, material handling, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move 35 lbs. (maximum of 160 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, etc.).
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and scissor lift according to location needs.
  • Ability to become familiar with warehouse lay-out, product location set-up, and product rotation.
  • Demonstrates positive team dynamics and productive communication skills through work history.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the public as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and handle a wide range of tasks.
  • Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals.
  • Must be able to read bin location labels, product descriptions, read off tablet and handheld devices.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with fellow employees, hear voice pick commands. Must be able to hear horn/alarms while in warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient quality and productivity standard established by Supervisor.
  • Accurately read orders, pick products from warehouse location, and ensure proper building of pallets of product for next day delivery.
  • Participate in the control of damage and minimization of product loss.
  • Properly wrap, block, and load assigned nightly routes.
  • Remove all shrink wrap from picking pallets and neatly stack all empty pallets.
  • Advocate for a positive workplace environment.
  • Participate in the practical application of safety and maintenance policies as they apply to company operations.
  • Stay within Company set standards on minimum cases per hour picked with appropriate speed and accuracy.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations regarding the warehousing of alcoholic beverages.
  • Do not abuse equipment and maintain company property such as company vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate dress and appearance per Company standards.
  • Display effective interpersonal communication (supplier, employee, customer).
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all areas of responsibility to ensure quality of work.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Show sound judgment, decision-making, and accountability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
