About The Position

The Order Puller Associate stocks incoming merchandise and fills customer orders, helping customers pick up furniture and take it home the same day. The role safely operates material-handling equipment to move merchandise for customers and other departments. AFW provides training and certifications for all equipment. Warehouse, food-service, or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required; reliable first-time job seekers are encouraged to apply. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Commitment to safety and to AFW’s safety policies and procedures, including promoting safety awareness.
Knowledge of and ability to perform correct individual and team lifting techniques.
Ability to work at heights, filling orders from 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
Ability to work in multiple departments.
Ability to become certified to operate warehouse equipment.
Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jack, or cherry picker.
Experience in a warehouse, food service, or customer-facing role.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Stock incoming merchandise and fill customer orders.
Operate material-handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
Operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
Work independently and cooperate and communicate constructively with fellow associates.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Use a hand truck correctly.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed by a supervisor.
