About The Position

Charlie's Produce is a privately owned wholesale produce company and the largest privately owned produce wholesaler on the West Coast. Requirements

  • High school education or 6 months or more of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (non-weather).
  • Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Regularly lift and/or moves up to 25 pounds; frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations as well as simple correspondence in English.
  • Must follow instructions, respond to management direction.
  • Reliable; consistently at work and on time.
  • Observes and follows proper safety procedures; willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Must have sensory capabilities to avoid accidents as warehouse environment involves fast moving forklifts and power jack equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls orders according to pick ticket with particular attention being given to speed, quality and safety.
  • Staging and building pallets.
  • Shrink wrapping and loading onto trucks for delivery.
  • Placing orders on pallets with special consideration given to maximizing product care, taking into account wet vs. dry goods and proper stacking to ensure safe transport and delivery to customer.
  • Loading trucks as determined by delivery schedule.
  • Picking short sheets.
  • Completing necessary paperwork by recording amounts of items picked.
  • Maintaining warehouse and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.
