Because operations have limited storage space for raw materials, coordinators help ensure there is adequate supply without over-ordering or wasting resources. Coordinators manage the supply of products to internal customers, ensuring there are adequate materials to support steady production. They monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast opportunities for improvement. Material Coordinators observe trends and customer requests to create and maintain maintenance schedules. Keeping track of operations requirements and purchasing expectations helps material coordinators make sure the right material is always available. Ensure to continuously improve use of ERP systems for planning to have better visibility of materials required to support projects/ operations. Cross functional coordination to ensure smooth support of the function and BP assets. Work with ILVC to handle expediting, shipping, and process internal customer shipment inquiries. Material Coordinators act as liaisons between Operations / Projects and other departments. They receive project plans and additional information to determine timelines and necessary materials. They also work to coordinate suppliers on a “as required” basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
  • Basic knowledge of demand planning and maintenance scheduling as it relates to materials fulfillment and supply chain
  • 3+ years of experience working in a materials management role.
  • Experience conducting training on warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks, reach truck forklift, sit down forklift and order picker
  • Oil and Gas experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience preferred. Specifically Material Management related.
  • Inventory Control Experience.
  • Microsoft Teams.
  • Time Management- Material Coordinators must keep tight schedules and possess the ability to prioritize, schedule, and set and meet goals.
  • Experience in Process Improvement implementation.
  • Experience with SAP IT system.
  • Familiarity with industry specific equipment and operations.
