About The Position

Operates forklift to store, stage, ship, and receive products and materials. Bands, stretches, wraps, and otherwise prepares product for shipping, using good judgment, ensuring the product is secure for transit and storage. Pulls correct quantities of film and supplies for Extrusion, Press, and Converting for them to operate. Ensures all labeling from each department is correct on all return films and returns the product to the appropriate location with correct weights and identification. Verifies materials received against its packing slip and ensures all paperwork is taken to the appropriate destination. Monitors warehouse equipment, working conditions, and operating methods for safety. Repairs or reports any unsafe conditions, including daily forklift inspections. Weighs, logs, and stores scrap boxes and rolls in their proper category, ensuring scrap labeling has the proper weights and the department that created the scrap. Keeps the area clean and organized, including sweeping floors, organizing racks and aisles, and taking out trash daily. The area to monitor includes the Shipping area between the Press and Office, and the Warehouse area between Converting and the Ink Room. Assists all operators as needed, pulling finished products from their work area or designated staging area. Monitors general safety throughout the facility and reports any unsafe acts or conditions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of all departmental equipment, functions, and procedures.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and/or small-group situations to customers, managers, and other employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as truck capacities, order quantities, and inventory levels.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to compute and interpret basic math formulas, percentages, charts, and graphs.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Completed all current training required by law and by American Film and Printing.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Good skills.
