About The Position

The Warehouse Operator performs a variety of material handling, material movement, inventory, and warehouse functions. This role requires adherence to safety and quality standards, including EHS policies, GMPs, and SQF requirements. The operator will be responsible for operating various warehouse equipment, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to take direction and communicate.
Ability to read and understand written documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to troubleshoot problems.
Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
Ability to operate electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and reach trucks safely.
Ability to work with computers or computer-based equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of material handling, material movement, inventory, and warehouse functions.
Acquires and maintains skill certifications to properly use forklift, reach truck, and electric pallet jacks, tilt table, weight scale, battery exchange, stretch wrap, or other equipment.
Performs routine pre-operational checks of forklifts daily and cleans as needed in accordance with a checklist.
Locates and distributes materials to departments as directed.
Conducts inventory cycle counts as directed.
Prepares, inputs, and processes various reports, paperwork, or other administrative duties in a timely manner, either manually or with a computer using programs such as TMM, Word, Excel, and e-mail.
Properly documents all material movements.
Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and reports deficiencies or problems to supervisor or purchasing department.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
Complies with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
Promptly reports any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision.
Resolves potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
Attends scheduled EHS trainings.
Actively assists the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals.
Identifies areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommends enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.
Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.
Follows GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
