About The Position

This role involves safely performing assigned tasks related to shipping, receiving, and storing goods in accordance with corporate and local policies, programs, and budget. The position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and has no direct reports. The role requires adherence to Brenntag’s Core Values, regulatory requirements, company policies, and SOPs. A key aspect is ensuring a safe work environment and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately. The operator will be responsible for fulfilling customer orders through picking, wrapping, staging, and shipment of packaged goods. This includes inspecting, loading, and unloading products safely and efficiently, verifying regulatory documentation, and performing product verification as needed. Utilizing an RF Scanner is essential for tracking, locating, and verifying products throughout the receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes. The role also involves inspecting and verifying the performance of operational equipment and tools, recommending improvements, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Competency in operating both Reach and Counterbalance trucks is required, along with supporting Brenntag’s ‘Job 7’ product shipment best practices. Other tasks and special projects may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and/or training in TDG, WHMIS, Emergency Response, Forklift License
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and ERP systems would be considered an asset
  • Commitment to safety and past Joint Health & Safety Committee experience is considered an asset
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Previous experience in an industrial or shipping & receiving environment (1-2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations and SOP
  • Ensures a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to Site Management
  • Executes the fulfillment of customers’ orders and requirements through the processes of Picking, wrapping, staging, and shipment of goods, packaged.
  • Inspects, loads and unloads packaged products in a safe, efficient manner and confirms all appropriate regulatory documentation is in order; performs product verification where required
  • Use a RF Scanner to accurately track, locate and verify products during receiving, picking, packing and shipping processes.
  • Inspects and verifies the satisfactory performance of all equipment and tools used in this area of operations, recommends changes where necessary, and actively participates in keeping the work area clean, organized and functional
  • Competent on both Reach truck and Counterbalance truck
  • Supports and follows Brenntag’s ‘Job 7’ product shipment best practices initiatives
  • Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Site Manager/Site Supervisor/ Operations Manager.
