About The Position

AMES Copper Group is a secondary copper refinery that transforms scrap copper into high-purity copper anodes. This process significantly reduces scrap waste and contributes to environmental sustainability. We are seeking a Warehouse Operator for our Shelby, NC location to manage inbound trucks and stage materials for future use. This role involves operating various equipment to ensure efficient material handling and processing.

Requirements

• Certification in forklift operation
• Data entry, math, and computer skills
• Ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Computer Competent (ERP operating systems)
• Experience in a similar role
• High School degree, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment.
• Receive and unload freight using sit-down forklifts, bobcat skid-steers, grappler style cranes, and articulating front-end loaders.
• Record data and maintain receiving logs.
• Weigh inbound and outbound materials using scales.
• Perform visual copper inspections upon receipt to determine disposition.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor, such as baling, preparing materials for charges, cycle counting, and gathering slag for shipments.
• Maintain housekeeping and organizational standards.
• Carry out proper procedures and take accountability for work.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
