Warehouse Operator - Temp
About The Position
This is a 3-month temporary assignment for a Warehouse Operator, with the possibility of becoming a permanent hire after the assignment period. The role operates on a weekend mid-shift schedule, Friday through Sunday, from 11:30 am to 12:00 am. This shift is expected to transition to a split Morning and Graveyard shift once the team is fully staffed. The primary responsibility is to perform powder coating applications under the direction of the Paint Production Lead, while also supporting all daily powder line operations. This includes tasks such as masking, hanging, palletizing, and staging. The role also involves maintaining equipment, documentation, and ensuring production flow meets quality standards. Requirements
- Possess basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and understand shop orders, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to operate machinery in various departments.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses).
- Normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate plus relevant vocational training (e.g., sheet metal work).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform basic setups in a variety of departments.
- Ability to read drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform powder coating applications.
- Support daily powder line operations including masking, hanging, palletizing, and staging.
- Maintain equipment, documentation, and production flow in accordance with quality standards.
- Read and interpret customer blueprints to properly mask and plug customer identified features.
- Use diagnostic equipment to verify coating quality.
- Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, masking, cleaning).
- Remove masking and plugs from production parts exiting the cure oven.
- Hang and remove production parts from the chain line.
- Inspect painted products for quality and ensure they meet specifications.
- Manage inventory of paint, coatings, and other supplies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Execute routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and debris-free environment.
- Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with supervisor, lead, and co-workers.
- Notify lead of any material or mechanical issues.
- Maintain responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system.
- Participate actively and positively in Lean activities.
- Assist other team members as required.
- Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
