About The Position

The Warehouse Operations Trainer is responsible for coordinating and delivering training programs that support employee development, operational excellence, food safety, and workplace safety. This role partners closely with Operations, HR, and Safety teams to onboard new employees, conduct refresher training, identify skill gaps, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, replenishment, picking, and shipping processes.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and food safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with warehouse technology systems and basic computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of warehouse, distribution, foodservice, logistics, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or leading employees preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onboarding and hands-on training for warehouse associates in receiving, put-away, replenishment, order selecting, loading, sanitation, and equipment operation.
  • Train employees on warehouse SOPs, food safety standards, inventory accuracy, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective training to improve employee success and productivity.
  • Train and certify employees on powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Instruct employees on warehouse technology, including RF scanners, voice-picking systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, HACCP principles, sanitation standards, and cold-chain procedures.
  • Conduct refresher, remedial, and post-incident training as needed.
  • Evaluate employee performance through observations, practical assessments, and productivity metrics.
  • Identify training opportunities that improve safety, quality, productivity, and retention.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes, equipment, technology, and operational initiatives.
  • Develop and update training materials, SOPs, job aids, and evaluation tools.
  • Support warehouse operations during peak periods as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
