About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining production machinery, ensuring quality control, and managing production records. The position requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and good housekeeping practices. The Warehouse Operations Tech will also support various departments within the facility, assist with inventory management, and contribute to training new staff. Effective communication and collaboration are key to meeting production goals and maintaining positive interdepartmental relationships. The role also includes developing and managing the production schedule in coordination with Customer Service.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and recording production data.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement complex procedures from general instructions and to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to operate a Fork-lift, pallet jack, bandsaw, and panel saw.
  • Standing for more than 5.5 hours per day.
  • Walking for more than 5 hours per day.
  • Sitting for over 1 hour per day.
  • Operating a forklift requires approximately 0.5 hours daily.
  • Frequent overhead and forward reaching.
  • Climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, twisting.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, clean, and monitor production machinery and equipment following standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of products and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating significant concerns to supervisors as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output quantities, downtime, and encountered issues, and complete required documentation such as logs, inspection reports, and incident reports.
  • Follow all safety protocols, maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, and adhere to good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Properly handle, store, and label raw materials and finished products to maintain organization and inventory accuracy.
  • Report to work on time, adhere to the schedule, and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Provide support across all Medford departments, including saw operations, extrusion molding, and shipping/receiving, when not engaged in manufacturing.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts and stock control processes.
  • Help train and onboard new staff members.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals and foster positive relationships across departments.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with colleagues to promote a cohesive and supportive work environment.
  • Develop and manage the production schedule, ensuring timely communication with Customer Service to align with order requirements.
