About The Position

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the general operations of a warehouse and its staff. They handle the recording and maintaining of inventory, advising the imports received and items exported. They also train new workers and ensure their performance is adequate. This role also involves assisting with the overall operation of the University Support Services (USS) Mail Services and managing the onsite stockroom and warehouse to maintain a fluid working environment for USS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General stockroom experience.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or related field.
  • Basic Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products, basic math and computer skills.
  • On-the-job training in shipping and mail sorting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean driver’s license.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning workloads and daily tasks to warehouse associates
  • Receive, sort and process all incoming mail, packages and supplies.
  • Check incoming shipments to ensure that they match the purchase order and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain logs to track, trace, and resolve mail shipping problems with all major shipping chains carriers.
  • Sorts and processes mailings as assigned.
  • Package and prepare items for external shipments, coordinate deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and other vehicles
  • Process weekly outgoing courier packages (BICPAC) to Grenada.
  • Participate in regular physical counts of inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Brings all discrepancies to the attention of the Supervisor.
  • Create electronic shipments on carrier websites.
  • Maintain adequate supply levels in company break room.
  • Liaise with Building Management on maintenance activities.
  • Monitor/Order/replenish mailroom supply inventory and warehouse inventory.
  • Maintain neat and orderly conditions of the mailroom and warehouse work environment, including following all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Responsible for company vehicle, including errands, deliveries as needed to and from suppliers, and Post Office runs.
  • Coordinate facility related jobs with external service vendors.
  • Other Duties as needed.
