About The Position

CandleScience creates and sells candle-making supplies to hobbyists and small businesses across the country. We develop and distribute high-quality raw materials, fragrance oils, waxes, containers, equipment, and other supplies used by makers and businesses of all sizes. With multiple distribution centers across the country, our warehouse teams play a critical role in getting the right products to our customers safely, accurately, and on time. We are looking for motivated, dependable Warehouse Operations & Fulfillment Associates to join our Durham, NC distribution center. This is a hands-on warehouse position for someone who enjoys staying active, working with a team, learning new skills, and being part of a fast-paced operation where everyone contributes to getting the job done.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or similar work experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to understand and perform pick/pack/ship operations
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and remain active for extended periods of time
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning warehouse technology
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work safely and follow established procedures
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass required background check
  • Willingness to work early or late shifts based on business needs
  • Willingness and ability to work weekend shifts, including Saturday, Sunday, or both, when scheduled

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Experience operating pallet jacks or other material-handling equipment
  • Experience using RF scanners / handheld warehouse scanners
  • WMS experience
  • LTL/freight shipping experience
  • Inventory control and cycle counting
  • Quality control
  • Experience working in a high-volume fulfillment or distribution environment

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick customer orders using warehouse systems and equipment
  • Pack orders safely and efficiently according to established standards
  • Prepare orders for UPS, USPS, freight, and other carriers
  • Replenish inventory and maintain organized warehouse locations
  • Perform inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely after completing required training
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements
  • Work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Communicate with leads, supervisors, and teammates regarding priorities and issues
  • Assist other departments and warehouse functions when business needs require it
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and help the team find better ways to work
