About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for one of its Metro Detroit depots. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and repair work for the facility and its equipment, including installation, emergency and preventative maintenance, and inspection of mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Age 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in repairing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in repairing and troubleshooting heavy machinery and specialized equipment.
  • Read, write and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots conveyor systems, electrical systems, heavy machinery, and specialized equipment.
  • Performs level 1 troubleshooting on powered industrial truck equipment.
  • Coordinates with day PIT mechanic when level 2 troubleshooting required.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on conveyor system, air compressor system, PIT EV batteries.
  • Operates machines and other equipment to observe operations, diagnose malfunctions or make repairs.
  • Unjam product on conveyor lines from high elevation.
  • Document work performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Support production by handling oddball tasks required to meet production goals.
