About The Position

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for unloading, sorting, splitting, distributing, and transporting merchandise to various areas within the warehouse to help ensure merchandise is available in the right location. The role involves handling goods from semi-trailers, flatbeds, and overseas containers; organizing them in warehouse storage; and preparing merchandise for identification and movement. The position requires safe operation of material-handling equipment, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Must be able and willing to obtain a valid Fleet Farm forklift license and operate forklifts safely at all times.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload merchandise from semi-trailers, flatbeds, and overseas containers.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, bins, or pallets.
• Use an RF scanner to access the Warehouse Inventory Control system.
• Print shipping labels, stickers, and/or placards before moving merchandise.
• Safely transport merchandise using a forklift or pallet jack.
• Wrap products as necessary using a wrapping machine.
• Keep the work area clean and free of safety hazards.
