About The Position

This role involves performing physically demanding tasks in a warehouse environment, including cutting wire, operating large machinery, and working outdoors in the pipe department. The material handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, selecting, packing, and shipping inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The position requires a strong commitment to safety procedures and the ability to adapt to various environmental conditions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior warehouse experience.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, push carts, and other large machinery.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations and inclement weather.
  • Ability to follow safety instructions and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • 4-5 years of prior warehouse experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse.
  • Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, large machinery, and materials according to manufacturer instructions and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and perform daily safety inspections.
  • Cut wire and cable accurately using machines.
  • Load, measure, cut, spool, and bundle wires and cables according to job orders.
  • Fill product orders based on customer specifications for type, length, and size.
  • Receive incoming material, identify and break down stock, note discrepancies, and prepare for storage using WMS.
  • Store product according to WMS processes.
  • Select, check, and pack UPS orders following WMS procedures for packing, weighing, manifesting, palletizing, and loading.
  • Select and process non-UPS orders through WMS, ensuring they are packed to withstand transport and meet carrier pickup schedules.
  • Select, pack, and palletize replenishment shipments following WMS procedures.
  • Handle stock tickets and pack cross-dock shipments according to WMS procedures.
  • Sort and pack Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments according to WMS procedures.
  • Conduct cycle counts and bin location verifications, consolidate inventory, and handle stock discrepancies using WMS.
