About The Position

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for staging components for production and assembly, preparing paperwork, performing inventory activities, stocking prime locations, and assisting with receiving activities to ensure accuracy and proper placement of materials. This role also involves reading and following production instructions, developing department procedures, operating powered industrial trucks, assisting with loading/unloading trucks, preparing product for shipment, and supporting production in other areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience; must be willing and able to obtain certification.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with JDE or similar ERP software.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours, walk, crawl, climb ladders, or work in confined spaces.
  • Performs tasks requiring precise hand-eye coordination, including assembly, tool operation, and use of heavy machinery.
  • Ability to visually inspect materials and equipment; detects auditory warning signals in environments with ambient noise.
  • Ability to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection; additional PPE such as face shields, goggles, aprons, or respirators may be required based on position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications for forklift, powered pallet jack, and hoist/crane operation; adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and hazardous material handling protocols where applicable.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and near moving mechanical parts; may be exposed to varying temperature conditions depending on season and facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, work orders, and related documentation to complete production records and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and materials applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Stage components for production and assembly when needed.
  • Prepare all paperwork and perform all transactions accurately and timely.
  • Perform inventory activities to achieve targeted inventory accuracy goals.
  • Assist in keeping prime locations stocked.
  • Perform receiving activities assuring accuracy and proper placement of materials so as to meet efficient work/product flow.
  • Read and follow production instructions as spelled out in the work orders, schedules, procedures, and guidelines or as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain department procedures and standard work or job instructions.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks as required.
  • Prepare product for shipment/Prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Assist with production in other areas or with other activities/tasks as required.
