Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse.
  • Experience with Sit Down Forklift.
  • Knowledge of production and processing, including corrugated board types and grades, converting production processes, quality control, and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of how to safely load and unload material or product to and from shipping trailers with a forklift truck.
  • Knowledge of how to pattern and stack trailers utilizing maximum MSF per trailer.
  • Knowledge of relevant forklift equipment, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of board, bundles per pallet, linear feet, weight measurement, dimensions, volume and distance.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents in English.
  • Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Ability to install dock plates and chain for dock doors.
  • Ability to operate material moving, loading, or unloading equipment.
  • Ability to monitor converting production in determining material handling delivery.
  • Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure forklift is working properly.
  • Ability to visually inspect corrugated board and production material for damage and evaluate quality and run ability issues.
  • Ability to identify finished good shipping issues for damage, bundling, stacking and palletizing errors.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift to stack, transport, and move finished goods product.
  • Load and unload trucks and assist drivers with correct dispatch information.
  • Transport non-conforming product to quality staging area.
  • Transport scrap bales to staging area and load onto trailers.
  • Keep the warehouse organized with material and stock in assigned locations, clearly labeled and marked with correct information, and all tags facing the same direction.
  • Follow first-in, first-out procedure.
  • Participate in physical and cycle count roll stock inventory and identify inventory discrepancies.
  • Utilize scanners for scanning inventory into systems.
  • Perform routine inspection/maintenance on trucks and record data as necessary.
  • Assist Shipping department with loading and unloading trailers and rail cars.
  • Verify truck drivers have properly checked trucks.
  • Safely and successfully operate the truck following plant procedures.
  • Communicate successfully with internal customers including Operators and Feeders.
  • Perform daily forklift inspection and notify supervisor or maintenance of mechanical issues.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance duties.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Comply with and follow all health/safety rules.
  • Operate the Bander as needed, likely on a rotating schedule, including operating controls, replenishing strapping, notifying Shipping of inventory needs when strapping is low, troubleshooting and unjamming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
