About The Position

ABC Supply Interiors is a specialty distributor of drywall, ceiling tiles, steel framing, and other building materials for commercial and residential contractors. The Warehouse Material Handler pulls customer orders and loads them onto company delivery trucks, using a forklift for picking and loading duties. The position may also assist with delivering materials to customers or jobsites, including unloading and staging products.

Requirements

• Ability to be trained and licensed or certified by ABC Supply Interiors to operate forklift equipment.
• Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and twist throughout complete shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 250 pounds with assistance.

• Knowledge of applicable building material products.

Responsibilities

• Follow applicable safety rules and procedures.
• Receive incoming building materials and place them into inventory.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse to use available storage space effectively and enable quick retrieval of products for shipment.
• Pull ordered material from inventory and stage it for pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain products in quality, marketable condition.
• Keep accurate inventory records.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, including handling heavy and awkward loads.
• Estimate forklift load weights to ensure delivery vehicles are properly loaded and not overweight.
• Sort products to remove defective material.
• Assist with delivery functions as assigned, including unloading and staging products at customer locations or jobsites.
