About The Position

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling incoming and outgoing shipments of medical supplies, equipment, and materials. This role plays a critical part in supporting warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment to ensure the timely delivery of products to customers and the smooth operation of the supply chain.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including boxes, crates, and pallets.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understandably write the English language.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with customers, residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this company, which include a medical and physical examination if the position requires.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or logistics preferred.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments of medical supplies, equipment, and materials from vendors and carriers.
  • Unload trucks, containers, and pallets using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damages, discrepancies, and accuracy against packing slips or purchase orders.
  • Verify quantities, part numbers, and product specifications to ensure accurate receipt and recording of inventory.
  • Store received materials in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
  • Label, tag, or mark inventory items as needed to facilitate identification, tracking, and retrieval.
  • Retrieve items from inventory based on pick lists, work orders, or customer orders.
  • Pack orders securely and accurately, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for shipping.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counting, stock replenishment, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Update inventory records, bin locations, and stock levels in warehouse management systems (WMS) or other tracking tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following proper procedures and guidelines.
