About The Position

The Warehouse & Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and material handling operations to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Supporting a manufacturing environment focused on data center cooling equipment, this role plays a critical part in maintaining uninterrupted production and on-time customer shipments. This position leads warehouse personnel and material handlers, enforces safety and quality standards, and ensures inventory accuracy and material availability. The Supervisor ensures materials are delivered to the right location, in the right quantity, and at the right time to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, material handling, or logistics operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, material flow, and production support.
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience
  • Ability to read work orders, bills of material, and shipping documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in HVAC, mechanical equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles (5S, Kaizen).
  • Experience handling large, heavy, or engineered-to-order components.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of materials and finished goods.
  • Manage the flow of raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products throughout the facility to support continuous production and shipping operations.
  • Ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time to production lines, work centers, and shipping areas.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, including scheduling carriers and verifying shipping documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, and system transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials.
  • Ensure proper labeling, location control, and material traceability.
  • Support ERP/WMS transactions related to receipts, transfers, kitting, and shipments.
  • Supervise, train, and develop warehouse associates, material handlers, and equipment operators.
  • Assign daily work, set priorities, and adjust staffing to meet production and shipping demands.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide performance feedback and support disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Enforce all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures related to material handling and equipment operation (forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Ensure safe handling of heavy, oversized, or high-value components typical in HVAC and cooling equipment manufacturing.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the warehouse and material flow areas.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards related to storage, handling, and packaging of materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, layout, storage methods, and labor efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering to address material availability and production constraints.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with warehouse layout changes, capacity planning, and new product introductions.
