About The Position
The ideal candidate will provide direct support, supervision, and coordination to the warehouse & moving crews to ensure the overall success of the operation. This position is based out of Milford, CT.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Fleet management and DOT regulations experience a must
- A minimum of 5 years' of experience managing a warehouse
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel and clients
- Must have a proven service oriented attitude
- Must be organized and detailed
- Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word)
Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse and moving crews by training, setting expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback, development and progressive discipline
- Manage and control condition and security of inventory including proper storage, handling, disposal, transfer, cleaning and repair
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse and inventory
- Manage warehouse organization and special projects
- Manage productivity and performance of each team member
- Ensure cleanliness, maintenance and security of the warehouse
- Ensure that safety standards are adhered to in all areas of the warehouse
- Provide necessary training on basic furniture handling, furniture repair, installation procedures and safety (OSHA, DOT, and safety meetings)
- Schedules jobs with sales and clients
- Work with the Director of Operations to control labor, inventory, and supply costs
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by following company policies and procedures; enforce adherence to requirements by reporting as appropriate; advising management on needed actions
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training as required
- Provide consistent top-level customer service
