Our brand-new, 360,000-square-foot Asian-style food manufacturing facility in Sioux Falls, SD, is taking shape — and we’re ramping up hiring for key roles. This position is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within a food manufacturing facility, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, product storage, material handling, and warehouse personnel. Ensures the efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods to support uninterrupted production schedules while maintaining food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control systems, shipping and receiving procedures, and material handling practices.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory tracking software.
  • Knowledge of food safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP principles, sanitation standards, OSHA regulations, USDA/FDA requirements, and inventory control best practices.
  • Experience managing inventory accuracy, cycle counting programs, and warehouse performance metrics.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of food manufacturing processes and warehouse support functions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to and protects company profitability through effective inventory control, labor management, and operational efficiency.
  • Recruits and, in coordination with the Human Resources Department, hire qualified warehouse personnel.
  • Supervises, trains, and directs warehouse supervisors, leads, forklift operators, and warehouse staff.
  • Establishes training programs to ensure employees are proficient in warehouse operations safety procedures, food safety requirements, and equipment operation.
  • Ensure warehouse personnel are properly trained in inventory management systems, material handling practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee all shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory control activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and ensures appropriate stock levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
  • Coordinates with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure timely material availability and product movement.
  • Conducts daily warehouse inspections to ensure operational efficiency, organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and food safety standards.
  • Monitors warehouse equipment, storage systems, and facility conditions to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of warehouse supplies and equipment within budgetary limitations.
  • Manages warehouse space utilization and inventory rotation using FIFO/FEFO principles, as applicable.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, food safety programs, OSHA regulations, USDA/FDA requirements, GMPs, and sanitation standards.
  • Participates in facility inspections conducted by regulatory agencies, customers, auditors, and insurance representatives.
  • Establishes and maintains positive employee relations and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
  • Assists in developing and managing warehouse operating budgets and labor plans.
  • Maintains warehouse readiness for audits and inspections at all times.
  • Develops, coaches, and evaluates warehouse team members to support employee growth and operational excellence.
  • Responsible for conducting yourself and ensuring subordinates conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the company's mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and standards of conduct.
