About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Warehouse Manager for its Hobart, IN location. This role reports to the Sr Inventory Control MGR and is responsible for managing and coordinating all warehouse functions, including safety programs, receiving, storage, picking, and shipping for the Harvey location. The warehouse operates 24 hours across three shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work. This position will lead a department of approximately 7 salary and 60-80 hourly employees. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of warehouse and logistics experience, with 7 years at the management level. Experience in a lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of warehouse and logistics experience.
7 years of management level experience in warehouse and logistics.
5-7 years of experience managing a Warehouse facility with responsibility for a budget of $12-15MM.
Experience managing employee relations in a unionized environment.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with WMS, JDE and RF Smart highly desired.
Experience with lean and six sigma processes and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment operations by maintaining and enhancing existing standards, working closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Demand Planning, and Corporate Transportation departments.
Ensure the highest standards in the Warehouse for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Drive consistency and cost reduction through the creation and implementation of standard work.
Create, implement, and manage distribution center KPIs.
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Kaizen and Lean initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate service failures and develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
Develop and manage the Warehouse, inventory, and transportation workforce through performance assessments and professional development coaching.
Develop and implement processes to improve Commercial Metrics, Atkore’s measure of on-time delivery.
Manage/Lead an annual Physical Inventory process.
Drive all Warehouse Metrics to achieve organizational goals.
