About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Warehouse Manager for its facility in Harvey, Illinois. This role will primarily cover evening/night shifts, with flexibility to train and work day shifts as needed. The Warehouse Manager will lead a team of approximately 8 salary and 100-120 hourly employees. Reporting to the Regional Distribution Manager, this individual will be responsible for managing and coordinating all warehouse functions, including safety programs, receiving, storage, picking, and shipping. The operation runs 24 hours across three shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. This is a critical, high-profile role leading Atkore's largest Distribution Center.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years' warehouse, logistics, and management experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a distribution facility with responsibility for a budget of $12-15MM.
Experience managing employee relations in a unionized environment.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

MBA preferred.
Experience in a lean manufacturing/business system-based company is desired.
Experience with WMS, JDE and RF Smart highly desired.
Experience with lean and six sigma processes and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment operations by maintaining and enhancing existing standards, working closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Demand Planning, and Corporate Transportation departments.
Coach, train, and develop a team of approximately six to eight Warehouse Supervisors.
Ensure the highest standards are achieved in the distribution center in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Drive consistency and cost reduction through the creation and implementation of standard work.
Create, implement, and manage distribution center KPIs.
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Kaizen and Lean initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate service failures and develop, implement, and monitor appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
Develop and manage the distribution center, inventory, and transportation workforce through performance assessments, professional development coaching, etc.
Develop and implement processes to improve Commercial Metrics, Atkore’s measure of on-time delivery.
