About The Position

The Warehouse Manager oversees daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping and receiving, returns and transfers. Manages activities of direct reports. This job will have periodic access to confidential data including wages and salaries, financial statements, and product costs. Supervises employees working in the warehouse. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This job works under only general instructions and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use computers, intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software.
  • Associate Degree; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to be certified within 90 days on pallet jack, forklift or similar machinery, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations.
  • Lead and develop the warehouse, shipping and receiving and driver teams.
  • Provide impeccable customer service to our internal and external customers.
  • Confer with operation centers to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Assist in the inventory cycle process when needed.
  • Approve payment of bills, such as freight for Accounts Payable.
  • Direct salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Become a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Lead the safety awareness program in the warehouse.
  • Lead and/or assist in the various safety training programs.
