About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all Warehouse personnel and all HAO and VA assets within the Columbus facility. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Warehouse Manager will work with the Customer Service Team Lead or anyone else the Branch Manager has assigned with his responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the daily activities of the warehouse personnel, ensuring that all returned equipment is properly identified, cleaned, tested, tagged, barcoded, stored, and accurately logged into the computer system.
  • Overseeing the daily updates of inventory changes through the completion of refurbishing and issuing of refurbished equipment.
  • Overseeing the Cleaning & Refurbishing Area, where equipment testing and repair take place, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Overseeing all incoming stock items are properly identified, bar coded, labeled and entered correctly into computer inventory.
  • Maintaining accurate DME inventory records and to reconcile any differences found on a daily basis.
  • Managing the Shipping/Receiving process to ensure the prompt and accurate receiving, assembly and storage of all assets and proper facilitation of receiving documents and purchase orders.
  • Ensuring that items shipping via UPS have the proper paperwork and are shipped out daily within 24 hours of the request.
  • Assisting Shipping/Receiving Clerk in receiving all incoming packages daily and maintaining that all packages are received into our system within 24 hours of them arriving into the building.
  • Submitting daily reports: Report daily all packages received that do not have a purchase order to be received. Submit log of number of packages received daily at the end of each day. Submit Purchase Order receiving’s report at the end of each day.
  • Approving the par level purchasing requisition that the Warehouse personnel prepare prior to forwarding it to the VA Purchasing Agent.
  • Working with the Purchasing Agents and Customer Service Representatives to check the available VA inventory (stock and re-issue) and HAO inventory as requested.
  • Working in conjunction with the Warehouse staff, Purchasing staff and Customer Service Representatives to make sure that deliveries occur efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensuring that all unauthorized persons entering the warehouse are properly escorted in and out of the area and that nothing leaves the warehouse without proper paperwork being checked.
  • Assisting the warehouse staff in pulling inventory, inspecting, assembling, tagging, and testing equipment so that it can be readied for delivery.
  • Having daily routes prepared to get drivers loaded and, on the road, as close to 9:00 AM as possible; including working with warehouse staff to have all DME staged.
  • Overseeing Return Authorization Database and signs off on any equipment returned by the service techs, warehouse delivery persons, or salesperson and to make sure that all RA’s are returned within 30 days so that the proper credit may be received.
  • Ensuring all recalls are properly completed and reporting monthly to the Safety Director.
  • Organizing and performing monthly inventory counts, the annual year-end physical inventory and reconciliation of the physical and the computerized inventory.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse area.
  • Completing 10 hours of continuing education credits, relevant to this position, per renewal cycle. 5 hours – Required In-house facility-based In-Service continuing education. 5 hours – Required attendance through approved peer review continuing education programs as directed by management.
  • Completing the following VGMU’s for effective management: Management and Leadership Techniques, Stress Management, Importance of Effective Communication in Health Care, Mixing and Matching Working Styles, Warehouse Management for the HME Supplier.
