About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for providing and coordinating all Warehouse and Transportation functions and activities for the facility to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This role fosters a working environment that is fair, equitable, and driven to continuously improve. The position reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership in a fast-paced, high volume, Lean Manufacturing Environment.
Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Proven track record working with people and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures all team members are trained and performing in a safe and efficient manner using the appropriate PPE when applicable.
Provide training when appropriate.
Lead accident/incident investigations and submit reports in a timely manner.
Proactively identify and suggest ways to eliminate hazards.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health & safety policies are followed.
Regularly audit the Warehouse to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and ensure that inspections are appropriately documented.
Ensure that all team members are treated in an equal and fair manner, abiding by the company Standards of Conduct.
Ensure that each shift is adequately staffed to meet requirements.
Provide support for Shift Leads (e.g. Accident/Incident investigations, disciplinary actions, shift coverage).
Identify training opportunities; manage the training plan and keep the Training Matrix up to date.
Deliver against service expectations while balancing departmental cost and Lee’s Summit manufacturing efficiency.
Understand shift performance targets and how they contribute to enabling Lee’s Summit Operations and overall business objectives to be met.
Monitor shift performance to ensure targets are being met.
Be aware of any significant material or information flow issues arising during the shift and ensure corrective action plans are initiated and executed.
Ensure timely response to NCRs including understanding the root cause and establishing corrective action plans.
Manage 3rd party supplier performance to meet business objectives.
Identify improvement opportunities and participate in establishing the performance metrics and the CI program for the Department.
Champion the CI program to the Shop Floor.
Facilitate implementation of changes in the department.
Sponsor, lead, facilitate or participate in specific CI projects and establishment of Standard Work.
Sponsor, lead, facilitate or participate in Kaizens.
Drive automation and digitization initiatives for warehousing and distribution.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization.
Establish strategic roadmap for warehousing and transportation.
Promote a continuous improvement culture.
