About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of warehouse and driver associates, participating in the hiring process, and conducting formal performance evaluations. This role involves approving timecards, creating schedules, and ensuring the security of the warehouse. The manager will oversee the maintenance of equipment and vehicles, ensuring their safe use and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling. Key responsibilities include developing systems for organization, communication, and efficient space utilization, as well as maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring staff safety through training and certifications. The role also involves direct participation in warehouse operations such as order picking, material handling, inventory management, and data entry. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager will act as a backup delivery driver when needed.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier
Must frequently lift and move 20 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds
High school diploma or equivalent or at least one year of warehouse experience managing hourly employees
Proficiency with warehouse policies and procedures
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
The ability to collaborate with all levels of company staff
The ability to provide effective feedback

Forklift driving experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Direct supervision of three or less warehouse/driver associates.
Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations.
Approve timecards, create schedules as necessary.
Ensuring the warehouse is secure, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring their safe use.
Following federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
Creating systems for organization and communication and ensuring efficient space utilization.
Maintaining health and safety standards, safety training certifications and ensuring the safety of staff.
Read customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed.
Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas.
Sort and place materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in boxes.
Convey orders to staging areas and/or onto trucks for delivery.
Mark materials with identifying information.
Record amount of materials or items received and distributed.
Perform data entry of records into the computer.
Complete requisition forms to order materials from other company locations.
Prepare parcels for mail.
Perform physical counts of existing inventory and maintains inventory records.
Act as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable.
