About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Travel Warehouse Maintenance Technician in North Aurora, Illinois. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about. This position requires 5 years of building maintenance experience and general electrical and plumbing repair experience. A clean driving record is necessary to operate a company vehicle for travel within the area. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8-10 years plant/warehouse general maintenance experience, including electrical and mechanical repair and trouble-shooting
  • Has the ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder
  • Good organizational, communication, and planning skills
  • Experience operating forklift equipment required
  • Must have a clean driving record, to operate a company vehicle to travel within the area.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred
  • Equipment certification may be required
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and trouble-shooting functions on all warehousing equipment in an independent and effective manner
  • Maintains and trouble-shoots plant utility systems including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable
  • Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems
  • Performs routine forklift repairs
  • Maintains batteries and related equipment
  • Perfoms routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintains records of repairs
  • If required, provides training, including aspects of safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging/warehouse equipment, for operations associates
  • Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
