This role is responsible for helping to maintain Service Parts Storage and Velocity Plans and working on assigned projects related to Safety, Continuous Improvement, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Warehouse Layout/Design.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Level I: Previous experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing.
  • Level I: Knowledgeable in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Level I: Previous experience with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld preferred.
  • Level I: Forklift Certification strongly preferred (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while using safe lifting techniques.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Some computer skills and basic math skills needed.
  • Level II: +2 years of prior experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing.
  • Level II: Proficient in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Level II: Proficient with using a Barcode Scanning System/handheld required.
  • Level II: Forklift Certification required (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test.
  • Level II: Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Level II: Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Level II: Computer skills and basic math skills required.
  • Level III: +5 years of prior experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing.
  • Level III: Expert in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Level III: Proficient with using and training new employees with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld.
  • Level III: Forklift Certification required (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test.
  • Level III: Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Level III: Able to work independently without supervision.
  • Level III: Exceptional computer skills and basic math skills required.
  • OSHA safety protocols and hazard identification.

Nice To Haves

  • Level I: Previous experience with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Level I Facility Maintenance including shelves & racking repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler leak containment, floor repair/holes, skid loader operation during snow removal, dock drains, pressure washing, and scissor lift operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards within the operation and help develop the 5S program.
  • Work on project tasks relating to Continuous Improvement, Safety, and WMS assigned by the Projects Supervisor.
  • Ensure accurate movement of physical inventory using a handheld device / barcode readers.
  • Pick and pack (disposal/scrapping) of obsolete inventory lists from the Purchasing Team.
  • Be cross-trained in other areas in the warehouse as needed.
  • Perform within the Company Safety Program and Policies and proper use of PPE at all times.
  • Assist with project workload planning & timeline (Level II).
  • Coach and train receiving binners to properly and safely put away new service parts according to the Service Parts Slotting Plan (Level II).
  • Learn and apply Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on and participate in Continuous Improvement & Learning to improve processes, efficiencies, and profitability (Level II).
  • Be cross-trained in other areas in the warehouse (Level III).
  • Train new team members (Level III).
  • Fully understand Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on and participate in Continuous Improvement & Learning to improve processes, efficiencies, and increased profitability (Level III).
