About The Position

Responsible for supporting warehouse and yard operations through the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, staging, and storage of products and materials. All employees in this position are expected to operate forklifts and perform standard warehouse loading duties. Employees who are appropriately qualified, trained, and authorized may also operate yard trucks or other approved equipment to transport products, trailers, and materials between designated locations on company property. Additional responsibilities include maintaining organized warehouse and yard areas, monitoring product and equipment movement, supporting shipping and receiving activities, and handling hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures. Employees may handle, move, and store hazardous waste containers, respond to spills, inspect containers, and assist with proper waste disposal. Employees are expected to support workload and coverage requirements, which may include overtime as operational needs require.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of two years of experience operating a forklift is required.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Basic computer skills. Efficiently navigate a web browser, follow online instructions, type, and use a mouse.
Dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace.

Commitment to doing the best job possible.
Team player and cooperate with others to accomplish tasks in a timely manner and at an industrial pace.
Lift and carry up to 100 pounds in various packaging.
Tip and move 55-gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.
Tipping totes forward weighing up to 100 lbs.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English.

Nice To Haves

Truck driving experience and Class A CDL are preferred but not required for the position.

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts and other authorized powered equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, stage, load, and unload products and materials.
Accurately prepare and complete warehouse loads, verifying product, quantity, condition, and destination before movement or shipment.
Move products between warehouse, manufacturing, staging, loading, and yard locations according to operational needs and established procedures.
Load and unload trucks, trailers, tankers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain organized staging and storage areas and ensure products are placed in the appropriate designated locations.
Support the completion of scheduled warehouse loads and other priority operational work before the end of the shift, including reasonable overtime when required by workload or coverage needs.
When qualified, trained, and authorized, operate yard trucks or other designated vehicles to transport products, trailers, containers, or equipment between locations on company property.
Safely couple, move, position, and stage trailers or other approved equipment within the facility yard when assigned and authorized to do so.
Coordinate product and equipment movement between warehouse, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and yard locations to ensure materials are delivered to the correct destination.
Monitor trailers and tankers in the yard and assist with tracking outside carriers and other equipment located on company property.
Perform required pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections through KPA or other designated systems.
Promptly report equipment defects, damage, or unsafe conditions.
Maintain forklifts, yard trucks, and other assigned equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow established procedures for reporting maintenance needs.
Ensure inbound and outbound products are accurate, properly identified, appropriately staged, and free of visible damage.
Communicate clearly with shipping, receiving, manufacturing, drivers, supervisors, and other operations personnel regarding product movement, priorities, shortages, discrepancies, and equipment needs.
Follow all applicable safety procedures and use required PPE, including goggles, gloves, and other protective equipment necessary to perform assigned work safely.
Follow established hazardous-material handling, spill response, clean-up, and disposal procedures.
Immediately report spills or releases to supervision.
Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Identify and report unsafe working conditions and take appropriate corrective action before proceeding when necessary.
Maintain plant and warehouse facilities, tools, equipment, and work areas associated with assigned duties.
Assist with inventory movement, product location verification, yard organization, and other warehouse or logistics activities as assigned.
Perform other operational duties as required by the Yard Manager or other Operations Management.
