About The Position

This role assists management in coordinating warehouse activities of the distribution center. The primary function is to support supervisory staff by providing leadership and supervision to associates in their area of responsibility. The Lead will help the distribution center achieve its goals and the overall company mission, maintain company policies, communicate company goals and expectations, oversee production in their assigned area, administer the training program for new associates, and monitor and provide direction in their assigned area. The Lead reports to the manager or supervisor in charge of their area and may assume additional responsibilities.

Requirements

Must pass the introductory period of 90 days.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good time management skills.
Daily interaction with warehouse personnel, office personnel, drivers, freight lines and customers as required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of basic office (spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail) as well as inventory and warehouse management software.
Knowledge of AS400 and PKMS is essential.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to climb or balance.
Frequently required to lift and move product of up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to move heavy product in excess of 1,000 pounds with moving aids designed to move such items including hand trucks, dollies, motorized cart, pallet jacks, etc.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Develop and motivate associates and present direct supervisor with issues.
Focus attention and efforts to maximize profitability.
Provide leadership in the absence of any supervisor.
