About The Position

The Shipping Lead is responsible for leading other Rotators/Selectors and efficiently and accurately performing tasks related to the shipping of products, samples, and following up on other shipping issues. This role involves directing floor personnel, ensuring quality inspections, maintaining communication with other departments, completing paperwork, adhering to food safety and quality system requirements, and continuously improving processes. The lead is also responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices, maintaining good housekeeping, and ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including wearing required PPE and reporting food safety/quality issues to management.

Requirements

Familiarity with all applicable equipment.
Ability to adhere to food safety and quality system requirements.
Ability to document information in accordance with SOP's.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Ability to follow all required work safe practices, including wearing all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct floor personnel (Rotators/Selector).
Familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.
Maintain communication with other departments and employees as to notify them of any problems and concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulators, customer and other requirements.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.
Responsible for food safety and food quality related to designated area.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
