About The Position

This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert in warehouse processes and technology applications, with a high degree of familiarity with specific clients or projects. The Warehouse Lead is expected to embody company values, foster a positive work environment, and direct the work of other team members under the guidance of a supervisor. This position involves problem-solving, decision-making within defined parameters, and training employees on item handling. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment, performing inventory counts, monitoring safety and security compliance, delegating housekeeping duties, and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Ability to frequently climb or balance.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds by hand.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Must be consistently at work and on time.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Greater than three years of related experience.
  • Forklift certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in warehouse processes and technology applications.
  • Foster a positive work climate and encourage teamwork.
  • Direct work of other team members as instructed by the team supervisor.
  • Perform problem solving and decision-making within the bounds of direction given by the team supervisor.
  • Advise and train employees on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, and packed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Perform inventory counts as directed and make adjustments when needed and authorized.
  • Monitor compliance of safety and security procedures.
  • Delegate warehouse housekeeping duties and ensure they are performed daily.
  • Maintain compliance in all areas pertaining to Federal and State regulatory agencies.
  • Fill client orders safely, efficiently, and within Crane SOPs.
  • Operate a forklift or other drivable warehouse equipment.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves or into vehicles.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Scan freight via warehouse management system with RF equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork thoroughly and promptly.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Accurately and courteously load client merchandise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
