About The Position

The Warehouse Lead supervises airport warehouse operations by managing staff, coordinating shipments, monitoring inventory, ensuring safety compliance, and resolving issues to maintain efficient cargo handling and storage. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising and overseeing warehouse operations at the airport. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, including cargo handlers, stock clerks, and administrative personnel, to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The Warehouse Lead will coordinate shipments, monitor inventory levels, and implement inventory control procedures to optimize warehouse efficiency. Additionally, this position requires conducting regular inspections of warehouse facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and resolving any issues related to inventory accuracy or cargo handling. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the smooth operation of the airport's warehouse and cargo handling services.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and regulations
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations: Manage tasks and workflows to ensure efficient handling of goods and materials
  • Supervise and direct warehouse staff: Lead a team, assigning duties and monitoring performance for productivity and accuracy
  • Coordinate with logistics for inbound and outbound shipments: Ensure smooth and timely processing of all shipments coming in and going out of the warehouse
  • Implement inventory control measures: Monitor stock levels and ensure accuracy in inventory records
  • Enforce safety and security protocols: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to security regulations
  • Conduct quality checks on goods received and dispatched: Oversee inspection of items to ensure they meet required standards
  • Train new warehouse employees: Provide training and guidance to new staff on warehouse procedures and best practices
  • Resolve operational issues and bottlenecks: Address challenges promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain efficiency
  • Prepare and submit reports on warehouse activities: Compile data on stock movements, staff performance, and other operational metrics
  • Participate in inventory audits: Lead or assist in periodic checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Liaise with other departments to optimize warehouse functions: Work collaboratively to streamline operations and improve service delivery
  • Manage the maintenance of warehouse equipment: Ensure all machinery and tools are in good working condition
  • Develop and implement process improvements: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and lead initiatives for change
  • Handle administrative tasks related to warehouse management: Oversee paperwork, scheduling, and compliance with company policies
  • Provide input on budget and resource allocation: Contribute to decision-making on expenditures and resource distribution within the warehouse
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
