This backup supervisory position is located at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center warehouse, but Supply Services also serves patients/residents at 22 other facilities around the State, so there are opportunities for growth and movement to other parts of Texas if desired. The Warehouse Lead III reports to the Warehouse Supervisor, Supply Services. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Must actively participate and/or serve in a Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation as warehouses must maintain a level of full operational capabilities, regardless of disaster declaration, weather, or other serious impediments to operation. The Warehouse Lead III (Back-up Warehouse Supervisor) is a key position for Supply Services with essential functions offering opportunities to gain experience related to using modern receiving software systems, warehouse equipment and logistics to assure the patients/residents we serve are supplied their needed supplies for daily living. In the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor this position supervises and trains staff, while actively participating in daily warehouse activities while guiding the team to ensure efficient operations continue. The Warehouse Lead III performs moderate logistical inventory and warehouse work. This is accomplished through coordinating warehouse operations and supplies, maintaining security of state property, and warehouse stock inventory. Duties include monitoring stock levels for loss prevention and adequate supply to facilities and ensuring warehouse operations are in compliance with established procedures. Additional tasks include processing replenishments of stock, inventory management, putting away goods, rotating stock, pulling orders from inventory stock bins, and delivering goods to state facilities. This is a physically active position where creativity, strength, and discipline are important factors to assist with the heavy physical work involved. While the focus of this position is working alongside the Warehouse Supervisor in leading staff and the movement of supplies, this position will also be cross trained to learn new and exciting skills including using the newest up-to-date receiving software systems, handheld devices for inventory control and warehouse equipment.
