Warehouse Laborer (PT/ Temp)
About The Position
Share Food Program is seeking a Warehouse Laborer (Part-Time/Temporary) to join their team. Share Food Program is a leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region, dedicated to providing nourishing food to those in need. The organization serves hundreds of thousands of individuals monthly, with a significant portion being children and seniors. In response to increased need due to economic factors and legislative changes, Share is expanding its operations and advocacy efforts. This role is physically active and focuses on the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of goods within the distribution facility.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in warehousing, manufacturing, or production
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of orders
- Basic math skills for inventory counts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
- Standing or walking up to 75% of the time
- Repetitive motion
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Manually moving freight or using equipment to load/unload delivery trucks and shipping containers.
- Retrieving items from warehouse shelves based on pick sheets, packing them securely, and preparing orders for dispatch.
- Organizing stock in designated areas, labeling items, and assisting with physical inventory counts to verify quantities.
- Safely operating manual or powered pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks.
- Sweeping floors, disposing of packing materials (like shrink wrap and cardboard), and keeping work aisles clear of hazards.
- Additional duties as required
