About The Position

The Warehouse Laborer is responsible for receiving, identifying, marking, processing, and issuing materials. This role involves maintaining various records, files, and reports, including inventory controls and ordering supplies as needed. The position requires performing inventory controls to maintain high-quality standards for audits and operating a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles, along with hand tools. Key responsibilities include maintaining positive working relationships, producing high-quality and safe work, providing feedback on material and equipment availability, seeking opportunities for improvement, and learning about safety hazards. Effective math skills are necessary for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. The role also involves learning to safely and effectively use work-related tools and equipment, and eliminating waste in various forms such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time. Employees are expected to ask a supervisor if unsure about any aspect of the work or safety practices.

Requirements

  • Effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices.
