About The Position

The warehouse janitorial cleaner is responsible for assigned cleaning duties throughout the warehouse as assigned by the Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader. This role involves performing and documenting all cleaning duties per SOP 2-87 Warehouse Cleaning Procedure, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and dusting various areas of the warehouse. The cleaner will also be responsible for applying industrial sweeping compound, emptying trash, maintaining the overall appearance of the warehouse, and clearing sidewalks of snow and debris. Team members are expected to notify management of any repair needs and properly utilize the cardboard compactor. Additionally, the role may include providing water for landscaping and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1-3 months of relevant experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning services preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).
Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ability to identify and resolve minor cleaning issues.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Perform and document all cleaning duties per SOP 2-87 Warehouse Cleaning Procedure.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and dust all areas throughout the warehouse including ceiling and support beams.
Apply industrial sweeping compound to warehouse floor weekly and sweep up and dispose in trash can.
Empty warehouse trash totes and garbage containers daily or when needed.
Clean and maintain warehouse appearance, including pallet racks and framework, interior and exterior doors, vinyl curtains, safety barriers, interior and exterior windows and ledges, and removal of cobwebs.
Remove trash from outside convenience trash cans daily, replace trash liner, and remove any litter or debris from the physical outside area, disposing of it properly.
Remove all pallets from the lower level of pallet racks quarterly, then sweep and mop with approved cleaning solution.
Use an automatic floor scrubber weekly to clean all aisles and floors of the warehouse and remove any visible floor stains with approved cleaning solution and appropriate cleaning utensils.
Notify Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader concerning the need for any minor or major repairs or modification to lighting, HVAC equipment, forklifts, or automatic floor scrubber or any equipment not in working order.
Maintain and properly utilize the cardboard compactor to recycle corrugated materials.
Notify Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader to order compactor supplies when needed.
Notify appropriate leadership when there are 10 pallets of cardboard for recycling.
Adequately clear snow and debris from the sidewalk and apply ice melting material when needed to provide safe egress for Swiss American team members.
Provide water for landscaping if necessary.
Perform all other duties assigned by Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader.
