About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse. The Warehouse Janitor will operate specialized equipment to transport trash and clean floors, manage waste disposal, and ensure all areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Adherence to safety protocols and company values is essential.

Requirements

• Ability to perform all required tasks in the function according to established safety rules and guidelines.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and guidelines.
• Ability to understand directions (verbal and written) in English.

Nice To Haves

• Janitorial/custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Taylor Dunn or Raymond Tug to transport trash.
• Operate a powered scrubber to clean warehouse floors.
• Remove and dispose of trash and cardboard from all areas.
• Separate carton boxes for recycling and place boxes and trash in the compactor.
• Use cleansers and machinery safely according to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Understand and demonstrate Essendant’s Core Values.
• Sweep in and under aisles and perform detail cleaning of rails and guards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Read and use daily check sheets for responsibilities.
