About The Position

The Warehouse & Inventory Specialist is responsible for performing cross-functional tasks related to day-to-day operations, including but not limited to: material receiving, material shortage tracking, stocking, bar code scanning, outbound material recording, data integrity of inventory systems, and outbound shipping of materials (as needed). Hands-on receiving, stocking, and forklift operations are required by the incumbent in this position, depending on area and functional role being assigned by manager. This role may also include coordinating Buildings & Grounds Maintenance and Facilities related projects in their assigned turf are completed satisfactorily. The incumbent may work without direct supervision and must be able to perform under minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Physical strength and stamina with the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other standard warehouse environment tools and/or machinery.
  • Must have working knowledge of warehouse environments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor.
  • Proficient computer skills operating within Microsoft Office products and warehouse management systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift operation and certification (past or present, employer will re-certify the employee).

Nice To Haves

  • 2–4-year higher education degree in a related field preferred.
  • Functional experience knowledge of operating within a Warehouse Management System and software is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with materials used in internet service provider and fiber construction deployments a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse material receiving, inventory scanning, and material tracking, utilizing established tools & best practices.
  • Work with local Operations to ensure compliance with company standards for material disposition and bar coding (as applicable).
  • Track and report any damage or material returns needed upon receipt.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory records.
  • Perform scheduled monthly and quarterly inventory audits.
  • Perform Cycle Counts above and beyond monthly on an as needed or requested basis.
  • Work with warehouse and operations personnel to forecast material consumptions and issue backfill orders on a timely basis to avoid exceeding existing stocking levels.
  • Outbound shipping coordination and scheduling (pallets, modems, customer premise equipment).
  • Maintain a safe working environment and compliance with all safety standards within the warehouse and yard areas of their responsible buildings.
  • Work with construction & installation teams for material picking & staging for pickup by the field resources.
  • Provide support and subcontractor oversight for facilities, buildings & grounds maintenance and projects (at warehouse and buildings within assigned geographic turf), as assigned by their reporting manager.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned by their reporting manager.
