About The Position

The Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager provides hands-on leadership for warehouse execution and physical inventory control. This position is accountable for safe and accurate receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping; establishes a sustainable cycle-counting process; reduces picking errors and shipping damage; and ensures timely corrective action when problems occur. The manager leads through the Warehouse Supervisor while remaining visible and engaged on the floor. This position will be located at Plant 1 in Newton, NC.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressive warehouse, inventory-control, materials, or manufacturing experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory or management experience with responsibility for hourly employees and front-line leaders.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or warehouse-management systems, inventory transactions, cycle counting, and root-cause corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily warehouse and inventory-control activities, setting clear priorities, standards, and accountability for the team.
  • Manage and develop the Warehouse Supervisor and inventory-control personnel through regular direction, coaching, performance feedback, and appropriate corrective action.
  • Establish and sustain an ABC cycle-counting program, investigate discrepancies, correct root causes, and maintain reliable inventory records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely system transactions for receiving, putaway, location transfers, picking, staging, shipping, returns, and inventory adjustments.
  • Improve picking, packing, loading, and material-handling practices to reduce wrong-item shipments, shortages, and shipping damage.
  • Own warehouse-related corrective actions. Partner with Quality to investigate customer complaints, implement countermeasures, and verify that improvements are sustained.
  • Maintain effective storage locations, labeling, material identification, housekeeping, and 5S throughout warehouse areas.
  • Coordinate with Materials, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve shortages, inventory discrepancies, and shipment issues.
  • Develop standard work and training for warehouse and inventory-control processes; verify employee understanding and compliance.
  • Plan staffing and daily work assignments to support receiving, production replenishment, and customer-shipment requirements.
  • Monitor performance trends and lead corrective action using practical metrics and root-cause problem solving.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and material-handling requirements.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
