About The Position

American Tire Distributors (ATD) is seeking a Warehouse I to join their team. As the nation's premier tire distributor, ATD has a coast-to-coast distribution network serving approximately 80,000 customers across the U.S. and Canada with rapid and frequent delivery of high quality tires, custom wheels, and shop supplies. This role involves prioritizing and picking product for orders, staging product for loading, physically moving and lifting product, organizing warehouse stock, assisting with daily closing procedures, reporting on damaged or outdated stock, assisting with inventory counts, and operating powered industrial vehicles.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and pick product to fill orders and staging product for loading.
  • Physically move and lift product weighing as much as 150 pounds.
  • Organize the warehouse stock.
  • Assist in daily closing down of warehouse.
  • Compile and submit regular reports of damaged, outdated stock or supplies, over- and under-shipments, return of products to vendor, etc.
  • Assist in periodic inventory counts.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) in a safe manner and maintain an operator license, if required.
  • Ability to operate equipment to assist in loading and unloading.
  • Data entry of product number, use of hand-held devices and product placement for inventory accuracy.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as paperwork handling and warehouse closing procedures.
  • Compile and submit reports on damaged, outdated stock, over/under shipments, and returns to vendors; segregate defective items from regular inventory flow.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks, handling products up to approximately 50 pounds; manage tires and heavier items through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
  • Organize warehouse stock by product line and physical alignment, ensuring adequate space for overflow.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks, including cleaning parking lots, loading docks, and surrounding areas; maintain clear floors and tidy bathrooms.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing products regarding quantity, size, and type; report inventory shortages to management and assist in periodic counts.
